Free Baby Bib Pattern

Go HERE
to find a FREE baby bib pattern with easy instructions are easy enough even for a beginner (or sewing dummy such as myself) to follow.

If you make baby quilts or clothes, you probably have fabric scraps large enough to make boutique baby bibs that are cute as pie and would make a great gift for a baby shower or if your own baby's bibs are stained and worn out; make some for your own baby!

You can choose the fabrics to match your baby girl or boy's outfits or just mix and match fabrics in your stash to create one-of-a-kind bibs the likes of which have never been seen before! Well, at least until baby splatters them with dinner.

I think I'll try out the free baby bib pattern to make a baby girl's bib out of a yard of chenille that I had left from a baby blanket that I made last fall. I'm going to use fabric from a blouse that was ruined with ballpoint pen ink for my backing.

If anybody knows a surefire way to remove an inkstain, please leave a comment before tomorrow afternoon when I plan to upcycle my ruined blouse into (practically) free baby stuff!

FREE SWADDLE BLANKET

Go HERE to enter for a chance to win a FREE SWADDLE BLANKET! To swaddle or not to swaddle. If you can't decide maybe if you WIN a FREE SWADDLING BLANKET and try it out you can make a educated, informed decision. My mother-in-law talked me into swaddling my first baby even though I insisted that I would never, repeat never put my newborn in a straight jacket. Well, colic will take you places you never dreamed of going and she caught me in a weak moment when I was willing to take her advice.

Long story short, I changed my mind about swaddling infants. In fact I became such a fan of swaddling blankets that I swaddled all of my girls on occasion because I found that the practice helped them calm down and sleep better at night, which meant mom and dad slept better and we all know that if mommy is well-rested the entire family from newborns to toddlers seem calmer and more relaxed. PLUS, I have read articles that state that perhaps the most important benefit of using a swaddling blanket is that it helps reduce the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).

FREE BABY SLING

Go to ELEGANT MOMMY to enter for a chance to win a free baby sling! Who couldn't use a free baby carrier with primo walking season upon us?

The Baby Roo Sling Giveaway is timed perfectly as far as I'm concerned. I was just checking out some free sling patterns that I want to try and if I'm lucky enough to win one...well, I can be lazy and not worry about learning how to sew my own. The idea of sewing my own baby sling is appealing, and if push comes to shove I'll break out the portable sewing machine and give it a shot. But I'm going to do my best to win the one offered as a prize in this free baby contest!

I assume the free baby sling that you can win is the one that was reviewed which was a periwinkle blue hemp ring sling made from a hemp/tencel fabric. From the pictures, it is cute as can be and even though I have a girl, I can live with a blue ring sling if it's a freebie. I also like the idea of the carrier being made of hemp because of it's environmental sustainability.

The free baby sling contest deadline is 7 PM CST April 25 2010 (4/25/10) and to get all those extra entries, you better get going!

FREE BABY DOLL PATTERNS

Go to LU BIRD BABY blog for a chance to win three (3) free baby doll patterns. The patterns look easy enough make even for a beginner in sewing such as myself. I'm a novice new to the craft although, I have to brag a little and say that I did manage to sew a cloth, bunny doll with floppy ears awhile back that does look like a pretty rabbit if I do say so myself.

What caught my attention in the patterns designed by Bit of Whimsy Dolls were the cute baby girl dollies that have embroidered eyeglasses on their faces. The reason that I find this very appealing is that my oldest daughter has had to wear glasses (and mommy has had her work cut out for her finding them most mornings) since she was just a toddler.

For anybody that wants to get a jump on sewing bunny dolls for next Easter, there are free baby doll patterns in this Etsy store for cute ones that you might want to take a gander at. Plus, there are kitty cats, gnomes and a few others that look like the perfect lovey for a baby boy or girl.

This contest has a prize that you can use over and over to impress your friends and family with homemade baby gifts that you can personalize with a child's hair and eye color or with fabric that looks cool with their room's color scheme.

Head over to this Etsy store and take a look. I believe that you will want to add this contest prize to your stash of
